Dryer Vent Cleaning

How it works and what you get.

Why dryer vents matter

Every load of laundry sends lint into your dryer vent. The lint trap catches most of it, but some always gets through and sticks to the inside of the vent pipe. Over time it builds up, restricts airflow and makes the dryer run hotter and longer. Clogged dryer vents are a well-known cause of house fires, and they also waste energy and wear out your dryer sooner.

Warning signs

  • Clothes take more than one cycle to dry
  • The dryer or laundry room feels unusually hot
  • A burning smell when the dryer runs
  • Lint around the outside vent hood or the hood flap does not open
  • It has been more than a year since the vent was cleaned

What we do

We disconnect the dryer, clean the full vent run with rotary brushes and air from the dryer connection to the exterior hood, clear any bird nests or blockages at the hood, reconnect everything and confirm strong airflow at the outside. Long runs, roof vents and vents with several turns are no problem.

Bundle it with duct cleaning

Most customers add dryer vent cleaning to their air duct cleaning because we are already set up at the house. It usually adds less than an hour to the visit.

All services

Four ways to cleaner air.

One visit can cover the ducts, the dryer vent and the furnace itself.

Air Duct Cleaning

We seal the system, put the whole duct run under negative air pressure, and agitate every branch so years of dust, pet hair and construction debris leave the house instead of the vents.

Dryer Vent Cleaning

Packed lint is a leading cause of dryer fires and long drying cycles. We clean the full run to the exterior flap and check airflow at the hood when we're done.

HVAC & Furnace Cleaning

A dirty blower wheel and coil make your furnace and AC work harder. We clean the cabinet, blower assembly and accessible coil surfaces and swap in a fresh filter.

Sanitizing & Mold Treatment

After cleaning, we fog the ductwork with an EPA-registered antimicrobial to treat odor, mildew and bacteria. Ideal after water damage, a new pet, or moving into an older home.

Questions

Good to know.

How often should a dryer vent be cleaned?

Once a year for most homes, and more often for large families, long vent runs or roof-mounted vents.

Do you clean roof-mounted dryer vents?

Yes. We clean vents that exit through walls or roofs, including long runs with several bends.

Can a clogged vent damage my dryer?

Yes. Restricted airflow makes the dryer run hotter and longer, which wears parts out faster and raises fire risk.
