Sanitizing & Mold Treatment

How it works and what you get.

When sanitizing makes sense

  • A musty or mildew smell when the system runs
  • After water damage, a flooded basement or a leak near ductwork
  • Moving into a home that had pets or smokers
  • Lingering odors after a cleaning

How it works

Sanitizing is done after the ducts are fully cleaned, because treatment works best on clean surfaces. We fog an EPA-registered antimicrobial through the duct system so it reaches the inside surfaces of the supply and return lines. It treats odor-causing bacteria and mildew on those surfaces.

About mold

If we see suspected mold growth during the camera inspection, we will show you. Treating ducts helps, but mold comes back if the moisture source stays, so we will point out likely causes such as condensation or leaks so they can be fixed. Large or severe mold problems may need a mold remediation specialist, and we will tell you honestly if that is the case.

Add it to your cleaning

Sanitizing is an add-on to air duct cleaning and adds only a short time to the visit. Ask about it when you call for your quote.

All services

Four ways to cleaner air.

One visit can cover the ducts, the dryer vent and the furnace itself.

Air Duct Cleaning

We seal the system, put the whole duct run under negative air pressure, and agitate every branch so years of dust, pet hair and construction debris leave the house instead of the vents.

Dryer Vent Cleaning

Packed lint is a leading cause of dryer fires and long drying cycles. We clean the full run to the exterior flap and check airflow at the hood when we're done.

HVAC & Furnace Cleaning

A dirty blower wheel and coil make your furnace and AC work harder. We clean the cabinet, blower assembly and accessible coil surfaces and swap in a fresh filter.

Loosened dust is pulled out of the house through a HEPA-filtered collector.

05

Questions

Good to know.

Is the antimicrobial safe?

We use EPA-registered products applied according to the label. We ventilate the home and can answer any questions about the product before we start.

Will sanitizing remove a musty smell?

In most cases cleaning plus sanitizing greatly reduces musty odors. If moisture keeps entering the system, the smell can return until that is fixed.

Can you sanitize without cleaning?

We recommend cleaning first. Sanitizing over dirty ducts is much less effective.
